Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Welcome to HX | Hive eXperience ("the Platform"), operated by Elevated Experience Ltd, registered in Jersey (Business Registration No. 36688 with the Jersey Financial Services Commission, under the Registration of Business Names (Jersey) Law 1956). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

Our Commitments to You

No algorithm decides what you see. Your feed is shown in the order things happened, newest first. We will never reorder it to maximise your time on the platform.

No one can pay for visibility. There are no boosted posts, no promoted listings, and no advertisements anywhere on the platform: not in the feed, the marketplace, or events.

Prosperity by design. HX earns a share only when a member creates value, through products, services, courses, or events, via our two-tier commission model. We never earn from attention or advertising.

1. Account Registration

To use the Platform, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You can create your account with your email address and a password, or with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Whichever you use, these Terms apply in the same way, and the account is yours alone. Apple and Google share only your name and email address with us; if you use Apple's Hide My Email, we use the private relay address Apple provides.

Confirming your email. If you sign up with an email address and a password, you need to confirm the address using the link we email you before you can sign in. If you haven't, we send a few reminders with a fresh link. A sign-up that still isn't confirmed 4 weeks after it was made, and after at least two reminders, is deleted, along with everything given with it (for example an event registration or a form answer made while signing up). You're welcome to sign up again at any time.

Getting started reminders. If you have an account but haven't yet opened the Platform, we may send you a few emails to help you get started, for a few weeks at most. They stop once you've been in, and every one of them has a link to stop them.

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Because Apple and Google don't share dates of birth, we ask for yours the first time you sign in with them, and delete the account straight away if you are under 16.

Real names only. The Platform is for real people, not businesses, brands, teams, or bots. Your account name must be your genuine first and last name. Nicknames, made-up names, business names, brand names, team names, usernames, initials, test names, or any other name that does not identify you as an individual are not permitted, and community or business pages have their own separate naming areas for that purpose. Names are checked when you sign up and whenever you change yours; accounts that don't use a real name are closed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including accounts using a name that does not appear to be a real person's name, or that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent.

2. Communities

The Platform allows users to create and join communities. Community administrators are responsible for managing their communities, including moderating content, approving members, and setting community rules.

Community administrators may remove members, block users, and manage shops within their communities at their discretion, subject to these Terms.

Community administrators can export their community's member list, including members' names, email addresses and phone numbers. They may use it only to run their community, must keep it secure, and must not share it or use it for unrelated marketing.

All users must be a member of at least one community to use the Platform. You cannot leave a community if it is your only community.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you post on the Platform, including text, images, videos, voice notes, listings, and event information ("User Content").

By posting User Content, you grant Elevated Experience Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content within the Platform for the purpose of operating and providing the service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and must ensure it:

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without notice.

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance on the Platform for objectionable content or abusive users. Objectionable content includes harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexually explicit material, content that exploits or endangers children, and content that encourages violence or self-harm. Accounts that post it or behave abusively towards others will be removed.

4. Marketplace and Transactions

The Platform provides a marketplace where users can list and sell products, services, courses, and digital content. When you buy, you buy from the seller, not from Elevated Experience Ltd. You pay through PayPal to Elevated Experience Ltd, which collects payment as the seller's payment collection agent: your payment to us counts as payment to the seller, and we pass the seller's share straight on to them, and the hive's commission to the hive's administrator. Sellers agree to our Creator Agreement before selling, and hive owners to our Hive Administrator Agreement.

Fees: Three fees are taken from each sale, out of the seller's share: a platform fee kept by Elevated Experience Ltd (currently 5%, sometimes reduced during offers); a hive commission set by the administrator of the hive the item was created in (5% unless they change it), paid to them, whichever hive the item is bought in; and a payment processing fee covering PayPal's standard transaction fee (currently 2.9% of what the buyer pays plus a fixed fee in the currency of the sale). Buyers pay the listed price and nothing more. Sellers see all three fees, and what they receive, when they set a price. Buying something doesn't make you a member of its hive. A hive that is only for members of an outside organisation sells its own items only to its members, unless they're also offered in another hive you belong to.

Refunds: To ask for a refund, open the order in My Orders and choose Request a refund. The seller decides, subject to your rights in law. If they approve it, your access to what you bought ends straight away and the whole price comes back to the PayPal address you give, as up to three payments (from the seller, the hive and the platform) within 7 days. If the seller declines, or a payment doesn't arrive, you can open a dispute with PayPal. Refunds of monthly payment plan instalments aren't handled here; you can open a dispute with PayPal.

Buying in the iPhone and iPad app: Courses and digital content can't be bought in the HX app for iPhone and iPad. You can buy them on our website and use them in the app.

Digital content and courses: When you buy a course or other digital content, including on a monthly payment plan, we ask you to agree to get access straight away. Once you have access, you lose the right to cancel that UK and EU consumer law otherwise gives for 14 days. Your other rights, such as content being as described, are not affected.

When a seller leaves: If a seller or course creator deletes their account, buyers keep what they bought: a course with students, or a digital item that has been bought, stays available to the people who bought it, but is no longer offered for sale. The seller's profile and personal data are removed. A seller can't delete their account while they have upcoming paid events with ticket holders, or payment plans in progress; those need to be cancelled and refunded, or handed over, first.

Sellers: Sellers are responsible for describing what they sell accurately, providing it, and complying with the law that applies to their sales, as set out in the Creator Agreement.

Our role: Elevated Experience Ltd provides the Platform and collects payment for sellers, but is not a party to the contract of sale between buyer and seller. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed on the marketplace. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.

Course certificates: A certificate for completing a course is issued by the course's creator, in a design they choose, when a student completes every lesson. Elevated Experience Ltd confirms that a certificate was issued on the Platform but does not accredit, endorse or verify the content or standard of any course. Creators must not present a certificate as an official qualification or accreditation unless they are entitled to, and must have the right to use any logo, signature or picture they put on it.

4A. Social Publisher (free sharing and paid plan)

Social Publisher is an optional paid feature sold by Elevated Experience Ltd. Where it is offered, it lets you send your posts to other social networks you connect (such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and schedule posts for later. Networks are added as they become available.

Free sharing: Where we offer it, every member can connect a limited number of accounts (currently two) free of charge and send a post to them at the moment they post it on Hive. Scheduling, drafts, more accounts, LinkedIn company Pages and sharing accounts with a business's co-admins are part of the paid plan. If you have more accounts connected than free sharing allows (for example after your paid plan ends), the others are paused, not deleted: they stay connected, but nothing is sent to them until you choose to use them instead, disconnect others, or subscribe again. We may change the number of free accounts or stop free sharing; if we stop it, your accounts are paused and you can disconnect them at any time. The rest of this section about connected accounts and your posts on other networks applies to free sharing too.

Price and payment: The price is shown in US dollars before you subscribe, and is charged every month through PayPal until you cancel. If we change the price, the new price is for new subscribers; yours stays the same while your subscription continues. Social Publisher can only be bought on our website, not in the iPhone, iPad or Android apps.

Free trial: Each person can have one free trial (currently 10 days), with no payment details needed. If you subscribe before your trial ends, the first payment is taken when the trial ends, and we remind you three days before.

Cancelling: You can cancel at any time in Account Settings (or in PayPal). No further payments are taken, and you keep Social Publisher until the end of the month you have paid for. Payments already made are not refunded, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. If you delete your account, we cancel your subscription first.

Scheduled posts: A scheduled post goes out at the time you choose, as if you posted it then, and follows the same rules as any post. If you are no longer a member of a hive you chose, or no longer manage the business you chose, it won't be posted there and we'll tell you. If your Social Publisher ends, posts still scheduled are kept as drafts and are not posted.

Failed payments: If a payment fails, PayPal tries again. If it still can't be taken, the subscription stops, and Social Publisher ends when the period you have already paid for ends.

Connected accounts: You can only connect accounts you are entitled to post for: your own profile, and Pages or business accounts you manage. You can disconnect any of them at any time in Account Settings. Facebook and Instagram are services of Meta Platforms; LinkedIn is a service of LinkedIn Corporation. Hive isn't connected with or endorsed by either.

Businesses and their co-admins: A business's owner and its confirmed co-admins can all see, change, post and delete the posts scheduled as that business, and see who scheduled or last changed each one. The owner's Social Publisher covers co-admins when they post as the business, so they don't need their own. The owner can share a Facebook Page, LinkedIn company Page or Instagram account they've connected with their business (never a personal LinkedIn profile); the business's co-admins can then send the business's posts there, through the owner's connection. The owner chooses who is a co-admin and which accounts to share, is responsible for what is published on accounts they share, and can stop sharing at any time. If the owner's Social Publisher ends, posts that co-admins scheduled for the business are kept as drafts and they are told.

Your posts on other networks: Posts you send to another network are published under your own account there, and that network's own terms and rules apply as well as ours. You are responsible for what you publish. Networks can change what they allow apps to do; if a network stops working with Social Publisher we will tell you, and you can cancel.

4B. Apps That Post for You

You can let another app, such as Buffer, post into one of your hives for you, as yourself or as a business you help run. It is free. You choose the hive and who it posts as when you allow it, and you can remove it at any time in Account Settings. Posts it makes are your posts: they follow these terms and the hive's rules like any other, and you are responsible for them. The app can only post; it can't see your hive, your messages or anything else in Hive. The app is a separate service with its own terms. We may stop an app from posting, or limit how much it posts, to protect the Platform and its members.

4C. HXAI: Hive in Your AI Assistant

You can connect your own AI assistant (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok) to Hive and ask it to do things for you: find events, book places at free events, look things up in How We Hive, find people and businesses in your hives and read their profiles, post in your hives' Cafés, send messages to people and to your group chats (it can send messages but not read them), draft and publish your own events and Market listings (with photos you give it, under your businesses and in your other hives), delete your own Market listings (they go to your recycle bin first), and see who has booked your events. It is free. You allow it once, and you can disconnect it at any time in Account Settings. Anything it does is done as you: posts, messages, bookings, events and listings it makes are yours, follow these terms and the hive's rules like any other, and you are responsible for them, so check what your assistant is about to do before you let it. It can't take payments; paid tickets and purchases are made in Hive. Your assistant is a separate service with its own terms. A hive's admins can switch HXAI off for their hive, and we may limit or stop HXAI for anyone, or for everyone, to protect the Platform and its members.

5. Events

Users may create and manage events within communities. Event organisers are responsible for the accuracy of event information, ticketing, and the delivery of the event experience.

Ticket payments are made through PayPal to Elevated Experience Ltd, which passes the organiser's share straight on to them, as for marketplace sales (section 4). Elevated Experience Ltd is not responsible for event cancellations, refunds, or the quality of events.

In a community that is only for members of an outside organisation, an event can have a member price and a non-member price, or be for members only. The member price is for people with a current membership at the time they buy, which HX checks with the organisation at checkout; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Monthly payment plans are for the member price only. If you have a ticket for an event in a community you're not in, you can see that event, its chat and, if the organiser shows it, its attendee list, and the people there can see you. Events whose tickets are sold on another website, or that are listed for promotion only, can't be booked on HX: you get tickets from the organiser.

Event organisers can export their attendee list, including attendees' names, email addresses, phone numbers and shipping addresses. They may use it only to run and follow up on that event, must keep it secure, and must not share it or use it for unrelated marketing.

Organisers may place a registration form for their event on their own website. Anyone registering through it is registering with HX under these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

5A. Forms, Votes and Nominations

Event hosts can add forms to their events: votes, nominations, feedback, registration and applications. A form can be open to anyone with its link, to the hive's members, or to ticket holders only. On a paid event, answering a form never gives you a ticket. Anyone who answers a form has, or creates, an HX account and is registering with HX under these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Answering a form adds you to the event's community and registers you for the event.

Taking part fairly. One account per person, in your own real name. Each person has one vote in each category, which they can change until the form closes. Creating extra accounts, voting on someone else's behalf, offering anything in return for votes, or using automated tools to answer forms is not allowed. Organisers can set aside answers that look unfair, and we may close accounts used to do it.

Nominating someone. Only nominate real people or businesses, in good faith, and only give details about them that you are entitled to share. The organiser may invite the person you nominate and tell them that they were nominated through their form; nominees can decline and have their details removed.

Organisers' responsibilities. If you run a form you must: say honestly, in the form, why you are asking (the consent box shows it); use the answers, nominees' details and downloads only for that purpose and to run your event; keep downloads secure and never share them or use them for unrelated marketing; only email people who ticked "keep me posted" about future events; respect a nominee's decision to decline; and publish results that reflect the votes and your judges' decisions as you described them. Results are private unless you choose to publish them. Invitations you send go out in your name, with replies coming to you, and must not be used for anything other than the nomination. "Totals only" forms are a promise to the people answering and can't be switched off once anyone has answered. Selection forms, such as a call for speakers, never show public results, and any "not selected" message is yours to send.

Judges. Judges an organiser adds join the event's community and can see and score the entries they are judging. They must keep entries confidential and may only publish results or download answers if the organiser allows it.

Keeping answers. Answers are deleted six months after a form closes, keeping only anonymous totals, unless the organiser archives the form. Anyone can delete their own answers at any time from My forms.

6. Shops

Users may open shops within communities, subject to approval by the community administrator. Shop owners must comply with all applicable business, consumer protection, and tax regulations.

Community administrators may approve, reject, or revoke shop access at their discretion.

Handing over a business: A business's owner can ask another member of its hive to take it over. Nothing changes until that member accepts. They then own the business, manage its co-admins and are responsible for it under these terms. Listings the previous owner created only under that business pass to the new owner, who becomes the seller for future sales; sales already made, and the obligations that come with them (such as delivering orders and handling refunds), stay with the previous owner.

7. Messaging and Communications

The Platform provides direct messaging, group messaging, and event chat features. You agree not to use these features to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam), harassing or threatening content, or any material that violates these Terms.

Messages may include text, images, files, voice notes, video messages, GIFs, and shared posts. All communications are subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Anyone in a conversation can forward its messages to their other chats or to people they're connected with. Only forward what the person who wrote it would be comfortable with, and never forward someone's private or personal information without their permission. Deleting a message doesn't remove copies that have already been forwarded.

Files and photos shared in a conversation can only be opened by its participants, and by the people in any chat they're forwarded to. Voice notes and video messages are kept for 30 days, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted and replaced with a notice. If you want to keep one, save it before then.

8. Reporting and Moderation

You can report any post, comment, Story, notice or message you think breaks these Terms, using Report on that item, and report a member from their profile. You can also block any member: you will no longer see their posts, comments, Stories or messages, and neither of you can message the other. Blocking someone also tells us, so we can check for abuse. Reports are reviewed by platform administrators (Global Admins) and, for members, by community administrators. We review reports within 24 hours and act on them, which can mean removing the content and removing the person who posted it. See our Child Safety Standards for our policy and reporting process for child sexual abuse and exploitation specifically.

11. Indemnification
